Registration for Regular and Special Enlisted Career Soldiers (PK) for the Army (AD) for the 2024 Fiscal Year is open starting February 1 2024. Before registering, first get to know the differences between enlisted soldiers, non-commissioned officers and TNI officers.
Officers, non-commissioned officers and enlisted officers are the rank groups of soldiers, as regulated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 39 of 2010 concerning the Administration of Indonesian National Army Soldiers.
When undergoing initial training as an enlisted soldier, non-commissioned officer or officer, an Indonesian citizen is called a student soldier. During their first education, student soldiers both receive educational allowances.
The difference is, the first level of education for the appointment of officer soldiers can be secondary education graduates and college graduates. Meanwhile, the first level of education for non-commissioned soldiers and enlisted soldiers can be secondary education graduates.
The following are further differences between enlisted soldiers, non-commissioned officers and TNI officers.
Differences between Enlisted Soldiers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Officers in TNI Rank Groups
1. Education First
– Officers: TNI Academy and short service volunteer soldier education for secondary education graduates, officer school for college graduates
– Non-Commissioned Officer: Education First
– Enlisted: Education First
2. Formation Education
– Officer formation education: forming and developing selected non-commissioned officers who meet the requirements to become officers
– Non-commissioned officer formation education: forming and developing selected enlisted personnel who meet the requirements to become non-commissioned officers
3. Development Education
– Officers: General development education, specialization development, science and technology development
– NCO: Specialization development education, science and technology development
– Enlisted: Specialization development education
4. First Rank
– First officer education graduate: Second Lieutenant
– First non-commissioned officer education graduate: Second Sergeant
– First enlisted education graduate: Private Second (or Second Class for first enlisted education graduates of the Indonesian Navy)
5. First Service Bond Period
– Officer: 10 years
– Non-commissioned officers: minimum 7 years, maximum 10 years
– Enlisted: minimum 5 years, maximum 10 years
6. Continued Service Bond Period
– Officers: maximum age 58 years
– Non-commissioned officers and enlisted officers: maximum age 53 years

Non-commissioned officers and enlisted officers: Lowest 38 years, highest 41 years
